Always start simple then add as you feel ready. Pick one technique and apply that to your scrapbook page. It is simply using coordinating patterned papers and layering them on top of each other to form the foundation for your layout. And the easiet way of doing this is by using coordinated collections from manufacturers like Basic Grey, SEI, K&Company, Making Memories, Flair Design... the list goes on and on.  This page was created using the Lilykate Collection of Basic Grey. I used 5 coordinating papers, added dimensional embellishments like chipboard, silk flowers, brads and then I inked the edges of papers to soften and blend the different patterned papers used and finally, stitched it to finish the look of the layout. It took me over 3 hours to assemble this page because of the different techniques involved, but the result is simply beautiful and has dimensional appeal. Keep in mind there are no mistakes in scrapbooking. Whatever your style is, it is right. Don't feel pressured to do your pages the way some one else does theirs. Make yours uniquely you.
